Dan founded Morris Capital Advisors, LLC, in 1994. Dan established the firm to provide expert money management and distinctive service to selected individual, corporate, and institutional clients. The firm is clearly focused on Dan’s goal to deliver cutting-edge investment strategies built on his conservative, unbiased, research-driven discipline, honed by more than three decades in the investment management industry. The firm also maintains a client-driven focus that contributes to its long-standing relationships with clients, and it is the strength of these relationships that provide the foundation of its continued success.
Under Dan’s guidance Morris Capital Advisors, LLC, manages client assets in three distinct equity strategies, Large-Cap Core, Large-Cap Growth and Small-Cap Growth, and has successfully navigated some of the most turbulent market environments in recent history. The firm has been recognized as standout among its peers and was named as a “Top Gun” money manager in the Large-Cap Growth universe of managers in the Informais Plan Sponsor Networks database.
Dan is also the founder of Manor Investment Funds, a no-load mutual fund family that enables investors of all sizes the opportunity to participate in the same strategies that the firm manages for its advisory clients. Founded in 1995 the Manor Funds includes the Manor Fund and Growth Fund which mirror the firm’s two large-cap equity portfolios, and the Bond Fund a short-term US Treasury fixed income fund. The Manor Fund and the Manor Growth Fund have each been recognized for investment excellent among their peers, and the Manor Growth Fund has been recognized as a “Category King” in the Wall Street Journal mutual fund rankings.
Dan started his career as a portfolio manager at Wilmington Trust Company, where he managed over $850 million for individual, trust, and institutional clients. He was an important contributor in the development of investment products that helped to grow assets under management more than three-fold during his tenure.
Subsequently, Dan was one of four founding partners of Consistent Asset Management Company, an investment advisor focusing primarily on institutional clients. Building upon his experience at Wilmington Trust, Dan developed an investment strategy that helped the firm grow to manage more than $1 billion corporate, institutional, and endowment clients.
Dan has also served on the Emerging Practices Advisory Council for Charles Schwab & Co. and as a co-host of “Money Matters” a television show covering a wide range of financial topics.
Joseph T. Doyle, Jr., CFA
Joe joined Morris Capital Advisors in 2006. He co-manages with Dan Morris the Large Cap Growth, Large Cap Core and Small Cap Growth strategies, and has primary responsibility for portfolio implementation and trade execution. He also co-manages the Manor Growth Fund and the Manor Fund.
Prior to joining MCA, Joe was Chief Investment Officer at 1838 Investment Advisors. Over the course of his 20-year association with that firm he served as head of the Large Core team, lead portfolio manager for the firm’s managed money efforts, head of the tax-efficient investment process, head of quantitative research, balanced portfolio manager for several large institutional relationships, and manager/analyst for the technology and telecommunications sectors. Joe is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Joe is active in the community, and serves on the advisory boards of the Overbrook School for the Blind, Archbishop Carroll High School and Villa Maria Academy.
John R. "Rusty" Giles
John R. “Rusty” Giles joined Morris Capital Advisors in 2005. He is responsible for distribution of multiple investment strategies to high net worth individuals, institutions, and financial intermediaries. He manages client relationships and assists with portfolio management. He directs the sale of separately managed accounts as well as the firm’s Manor Growth Fund and the Manor Fund.
Prior to joining MCA, Rusty was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Wilmington Trust Company’s Wealth Management business. He managed Mid-Markets Department for the country’s 12th largest trust company. He was responsible for mutual fund administration and distribution, Wilmington Brokerage Services, product development and compliance. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration.
Rusty is active in the community, and serves on the board of St. Mark’s High School, the Development Committee of Girls Inc., Finance Committee of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. In his leisure time, he play golf, runs marathons and host a radio show, Money and Politics in Delaware.
